Where can I bet on the All Blacks in NZ?
TAB NZ is the only operator legally licensed to take rugby bets from within New Zealand, and it covers the All Blacks in full — match result, handicap, first try-scorer, winning margin and more. Among the international bookmakers Kiwis have used, Gambiva, Rooster.bet and 22bet all carry deep All Blacks and Rugby Championship markets, but they are offshore, not NZ-licensed, and offshore access is tightening from 2026.
What rugby markets can I bet on?
The staples are match result (which team wins, with the draw priced separately), handicap or line betting (a team starts with a points head start or deficit), first try-scorer and anytime try-scorer, winning margin bands, half-time/full-time, and total points over/under. Bigger books add player props, race-to-X-points and live in-play markets. For All Blacks and Super Rugby Pacific games you will find the full range.
Is Super Rugby Pacific well covered by betting sites?
Yes. Super Rugby Pacific — the Blues, Crusaders, Chiefs, Hurricanes, Highlanders and the Pacific and Australian sides — is a core market for any book serving New Zealand. TAB NZ covers it comprehensively, and the international books in our table carry match, handicap, try-scorer and margin markets across the season, plus in-play during matches.
Can I bet live during a rugby match?
Yes. In-play rugby betting lets you back the next scoring play, the race to the next 10 points, updated match and handicap odds, and more as the game unfolds. Cash-out lets you settle a bet early. Gambiva and 22bet were the quickest-updating in our testing. See our live betting guide for the full picture.
What is handicap betting in rugby?
Handicap (or line) betting evens out a mismatch by giving one team a virtual points start and the other a deficit. If the All Blacks are -12.5 against a weaker side, they must win by 13 or more for your bet to land; the underdog at +12.5 covers if they lose by 12 or fewer, or win. It is the go-to market when one team is a heavy favourite and the head-to-head price is tiny.
Do bookmakers cover the NPC and Rugby Championship?
Yes. The Bunnings NPC (New Zealand's provincial competition) and the Rugby Championship (All Blacks, Australia, South Africa, Argentina) are both well covered. TAB NZ prices them in depth, and the international books carry match, handicap and try-scorer markets, with tournament outrights for the Rugby Championship and futures on the NPC title.
Is rugby betting legal in New Zealand?
Betting on rugby is legal for you as a punter, but only TAB NZ may legally take that bet from within New Zealand. Legislation passed in 2025 makes it illegal for offshore bookmakers to accept bets from within NZ, with geo-blocking from 2026. The international books we list are not NZ-licensed and we frame them honestly against that. 18+.
